Guangtiandi township (Guangtian township for short) is located in the southwest of Jia County, Pingdingshan City, Henan Province, 1.5 km away from the county. The total area of the township is 14 square kilometers, with 14000 mu of arable land. The terrain is flat, the soil is fertile, the light is sufficient, and the water source is rich. It faces Baofeng County across BEIRU River in the south. Luojie highway passes through the whole town, and 11 administrative villages are connected with highways, so the transportation is very convenient.

In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Campaign Committee reconfirmed guangguangtiandi township as a national health township.

In 955, Dalizhuang Township organized 32 returned educated youth to participate in the agricultural cooperative work, which set a precedent for young intellectuals to participate in rural work. As for this experience, Comrade Mao Zedong personally instructed that "all such intellectuals who can go to work in the countryside should be happy to go there. The countryside is a vast world where they can make great achievements." On July 15, 1968, it was renamed as guangguangtiandi dayoucheng commune. In 1984, it was restored to Lizhuang Township, and in 1993, it was changed to guangguangtiandi township. In 1997, it covered an area of 14 square kilometers and had a population of 14000.

Since the reform and opening up, the comprehensive economic strength of guangguangtiandi township has been continuously enhanced, and various undertakings have developed rapidly. The township has formed four industrial zones of foundry, chemical industry, building materials and abrasive tools. Guangguangtiandi iron pot Group Corporation ranks 22nd among the 100 metal products industries in China, and zhaohuayuan Village is known as "the first iron pot village in China". In 2006, it was awarded the title of "national civilized township". The total agricultural output value of the township was 93.96 million yuan, the fiscal revenue was 3.73 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 3160 yuan.

From 1954 to 1955, Dalizhuang Township, the predecessor of guangkuangtiandi Township, organized 32 returned educated youth to participate in the agricultural cooperative work, setting a precedent for young intellectuals to participate in rural work in China. Educated youth in the countryside have brought new ideas and new culture to the countryside, which has become a driving force to change the appearance of the countryside and speed up the process of rural civilization and urbanization. Located in the southwest of Jiaxian County, Henan Province, guangkuangtiandi Zhiqing garden, covering an area of 6 square kilometers, was opened to the public on October 16, 2002, including the statue of Chairman Mao, the tablet of Chairman Mao's instructions, guangkuangtiandi Dayou memorial hall, guangkuangtiandi Museum, Zhiqing home, Zhiqing bridge, Zhiqing well, Zhiqing dam, Zhiqing amusement park and Zhiqing forest The whole scenic spot integrates revolutionary, historical and folk customs, and shows Mao Zedong's thought of "combining intellectuals with workers and peasants", as well as the culture of educated youth, farming, textile, transportation and catering. In 2004, it was approved as Pingdingshan youth patriotism education base. Chairman Mao's handwriting tablet is the symbol of guangtiandi township. Located in the middle of the gate of guangguangtiandi township government. Built in 1970, it is 4.8 meters high. The body of the tablet is engraved in gilded Yang script. It has been declared as a national modern cultural relic.
