Yeyi town (the original County township) was built in May 2008. It is located 15 kilometers south of Yexian city. It has jurisdiction over 43 administrative villages, 123 natural villages and 311 villager groups. It has a land area of 62729 people (2017) and a total population of 62729 people (2017). Nine ethnic groups, including Han and Hui, live in harmony.

History and culture

Yeyi town has rich historical and cultural heritage. It is the birthplace of Ye and Shen. In 2000, 2004 and 2008, the people's Government of yeyi town successfully co organized three world Ye's fraternities. During the Qingming Festival, the descendants of Ye Shen from different countries and regions, such as the United States, Canada, Singapore, Macao, Hong Kong and Fujian, come here to seek their roots and ancestors. Shen Zhuliang, a famous statesman and militarist in the spring and Autumn period, and Confucius, the founder of the Confucian school, argued here, leaving behind the famous saying of "the near is happy, the far is coming".
