Sunying township is located in the northwest of Tongxu County, 9 kilometers away from the county, adjacent to Fengzhuang Township in the East, Xianping street in the southeast, Weishi County and Xiangfu District in the West and North, and Ligang town in the south, with a total land area of 73.64 square kilometers.

Historical evolution

Sunying district was set up in 1948, township was set up in 1955, commune was changed in 1961, and township was rebuilt in 1983. In 1992, township government moved from Sunying village to banjielou Village East new site. In 1997, it covers an area of 56 square kilometers and has a population of 37000.

economic development

Rich in agricultural resources, fertile land, suitable for the growth of a variety of crops, the main crops are: wheat, peanuts, corn, potatoes, carrots, cauliflower and so on. Good water conservancy conditions, convenient irrigation, effective irrigation area accounts for more than 95% of the total cultivated land area, which provides good conditions for the development of agriculture. The township formed a potato and cauliflower planting area with Ergang village as the center, lu'ao, Qingshuikou, Xinzhuang, houxiaozhu and other villages as the radiation area. Through the guidance, a fixed "interplanting" high-efficiency mode of "potato corn cauliflower" has been formed, which has realized three crops a year with an annual income of more than 2000 yuan per mu. The Ergang vegetable market of Sunying township has been established in chengergang section of Miqi highway. Potatoes and cauliflower of the township are sold to Guangdong, Guangxi, Xiamen and other places, realizing a one-stop service system of "planting, purchasing and selling". The rapid development of forest and fruit industry has initially formed a 1200 Mu seedling cultivation base. The development of animal husbandry has shown a strong momentum, forming breeding Boer goat base, chicken production base, pig production base, etc.

Urban construction

The construction of small towns is developing rapidly. The business street of the township government has been reconstructed. A total of 360 new facade houses have been built. The road is 2km long, 20m wide, with 100 street lamps and 2km high and low voltage lines. Green belts, sewers, telecommunications, cable TV and other infrastructure facilities are complete.

The township has built a cinema, 32 village collective health centers, cable TV mobile communication internet covering the whole territory, 3 junior middle schools, 18 primary schools and 6 kindergartens.

Historical Site

The former site of shangcang city is located in chengergang village, 4 kilometers west of the county. In the Five Dynasties, after Zhou Shizong (954-959), Chai Rong built a warehouse here to store rice and grain from Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The former site of xiacang city is located in a small town 10 kilometers north of the county. After the Five Dynasties, it was built by Zhou Shizong when he conquered the Southern Tang Dynasty to store military salaries.

Historical celebrities

Hu Rulin (1881-1942) was born in Ergang village, Tongxu County, Henan Province.

A scholar in the late Qing Dynasty. After studying in Beijing University, he returned to Henan and served as the dean of Henan University and the Secretary General of Henan Provincial Advisory Bureau. He was elected to the house of representatives at the end of 1912 and served as the executive director of the Henan Branch of the Democratic Party in 1913. From 1909 to 1915, a mining case occurred in Henan Province. As the vice president of the mining association and the representative of the gentry, it promoted the establishment of Fuzhong General Company (which was merged by Zhongyuan coal mining company and Fuzhong company). In 1917, he and Wang tuansha founded the new Zhongzhou newspaper. He served as the general manager of the national tobacco and alcohol monopoly bureau and vice minister of the Ministry of education. Later, he successively served as president of Wusong China public school and North China University. In 1934, he was appointed to compile the annals of Nantong. During the Anti Japanese War, he served as a member of the national government's Senate, continued to engage in education, and successively served as a professor of Henan University, North China University, and Northeast University.

From 1921 to 1923, he traveled abroad to 38 countries and regions in Asia, Europe, the United States and Africa, and wrote diary of lechenlou and travels of 38 countries. In 1938, he was recommended by Liu Shi as a member of the national political participation Committee and attended the first national political participation meeting held in Wuhan. He died in Chongqing in 1941.
