Qishan town is subordinate to Zhaoyuan City, Yantai City, Shandong Province. It is located in the south of Zhaoyuan City, adjacent to Biguo town and Fushan town in the East, Xiadian town in the south, Laizhou City in the west, Canzhuang Town, Jinling Town, Luofeng street and Quanshan street in the north. It covers a total area of 149 square kilometers, governs 77 administrative villages and 76 natural villages, with a population of 34900 (2017). The town government is at crossroad.

Qishan town has a long history. In 556 B.C., the name comes from the fact that the general of Qi, Yanqiang, led his troops by this place. Within the territory of "Qishan" across the central, the top of the mountain has the famous "Qishan tower", dozens of miles away from this landscape.

Topography

Qishan town is located in the watershed between Dagu River and Jiehe river system, which is the north-south water system of Zhaoyuan City. The Qishan mountain in the southeast is 269.8 meters above sea level, the baiheding mountain in the northwest is 336.5 meters above sea level, and the jianjianshan mountain is 291 meters above sea level. Most of the streams to the east of sanguanling in the West flow into the Bojia River and bypass toucun to the southeast to the Dagu River. Tashan area in the northwest is one of the birthplaces of the five rivers, which flows westward into Laizhou City. In the East, xialinzhuang river flows from north to south through Biguo town and into Dagu River.

Historical evolution

In Ming and Qing Dynasties, the town belonged to Qishan society and Jingshan society of Liangshan township. In 1940, it belonged to the seventh and fourth districts of Nanzhao. In the 20th year of the Republic of China, it belonged to Qishan Township, the fourth district. After the merger of the two counties in 1950, they belonged to Qishan district and Huashan district respectively. In 1958, the commune became satellite people's Commune and red star people's commune. In 1959, it was changed into Qishan people's Commune and Huashan people's commune. In 1981, Huashan people's commune was changed into Daotou town. In 1984, Qishan people's commune was changed into Dawu hometown. In 1996, Dawu's hometown was renamed Qishan town. At the end of 2000, after the merger of Daotou town and Qishan Town, the name of Qishan town was still used.

The arable land area of the town is 82950 mu, accounting for 43.62% of the total area, including 43800 mu of high-yield and stable farmland.
