Cunqian town

Cunqian town is a town under the jurisdiction of Gao'an city in Yichun, Jiangxi Province. Located in the northwest of the city, south of Hualin mountain. In December 2001, the township government set up the village front polder, which is 37 kilometers away from Ruizhou street, covering an area of 150.45 square kilometers. It has 12 village committees, 1 neighborhood committee and 170 villager groups. In 2006, there were 2894.60 hectares of cultivated land, including 2748.53 hectares of paddy field, 146.07 hectares of dry land, 7348.50 hectares of mountain forest and 285.93 hectares of water area. The permanent resident population is 26523 (2017), which is in Gan language and is basically from Jiangyou ethnic group of Han nationality.

Historical evolution

Cunqian town is one of the four border trade fairs in Gao'an. It gathers merchants from Fengxin, Yifeng and Gao'an counties and cities. There are about 5000 people in the fair day and 20000-30000 people in the material exchange meeting (the ninth day of the eighth lunar month). Since December 2002, centering on the goal of "building a business center and creating a star market town", 12 million yuan has been introduced to build a business city in front of the village, with 4 new steel concrete trading greenhouses, 500 stalls and 200 stores, and a new commercial pedestrian street of 300 meters in length and 20 meters in width. From 2004 to 2006, 1.45 million yuan was invested in greening, hardening and beautifying the streets of market towns. Diversified products mainly include vegetables, watermelon, citrus, tea, pigs, cattle, poultry, aquatic products, etc. The watermelon "xihongbao" and "Xincheng No.1" are popular in Gao'an, Nanchang and other places for their sweet taste. In 2006, there were six breeding bases for cattle in Shanxia village, pigs in YaoYuan and Leifeng villages, vegetables in Huanggu, Sheqian, YaoYuan and cunqian villages, high-quality rice in Gaoping, Tongshu and Jiumei villages, Phyllostachys pubescens in Huashi forest farm, Leifeng and Longxi villages, and medicinal materials in Gaoping and Tongshu villages. There are cultural stations, broadcasting stations and cinemas in the market towns. In 2005, the town connected to the cable TV cable in the urban area, receiving 32 sets of programs and 3500 cable TV users. The terrain in the territory is high in the north and low in the south, with east-west bulge and strip plain in the middle. The main streams are Suxi River and xiaojiagang, and the main channel and west main channel of the upstream reservoir flow through the territory; there are 19 small (I) and (II) reservoirs, with a total water storage capacity of 19.9 million cubic meters, and an area of 2293 hectares of income guaranteed by drought and flood, accounting for 79.23% of the cultivated land. the territory is rich in vegetation, with pine, fir and shrub forests, and camphor is the most rare and protected tree species. In 2006, the forest coverage rate was 52%, and the volume of standing trees was 190000 cubic meters. There are abundant lead, zinc, iron, gold and copper deposits along the Suxi River, anthracite in Datian, Taishan and leifengling, porcelain clay in Leifeng and jiumeisheping, and quartz in Huashi mountains. The reserves of porcelain clay and quartz are 100 million tons and 110 million tons respectively. There are many underground Yinhe rivers near Suxi River, with good water quality and abundant reserves.

History and culture

The cultural heritage of cunqian town is profound. Su Shi and Su Zhe, the great poets of Song Dynasty, once visited the village, hence the name of Suxi River and Poshan. Zhu Shi, who was born in Zhucun village of Genshan, lived through the three dynasties of Kang, Yong and Qian in Qing Dynasty. He was an official to the crown prince Taifu, the great scholar of Wenhua hall, concurrently an official and a minister of the army. He was honored as "the elder of the Emperor". The Biluo bridge on the Bank of Suxi river was originally built by Zhu Shi, but it was in disrepair for a long time. In October 2001, it was rebuilt by private financing and completed and opened to traffic on December 18. In 1987, Zhu Shi's tomb was listed as a key cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level. In June 2006, it was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit and one of the city's famous tourist attractions.
