Mingshan Township

Mingshan township is a township under the jurisdiction of Duchang County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province. It is located in the northeast of Duchang County, bordering Zhongguan town and Xiangshuitan of Poyang County in the East, Tutang town in the south, Cailing town in the West and Dagang Town in the north. Located in the middle of Jiujing expressway, 45 kilometers away from Duchang County, less than an hour's drive to Jiujiang and Jingdezhen, the traffic is very convenient. The township covers an area of 68.49 square kilometers. It has one neighborhood committee and seven village committees, with a population of 24515 (2017). In 2008, 10 million yuan of foreign investment was introduced, forming an industrial cluster led by garment and shoe industry, expanding local employment and stimulating local economic development. In Jiushan village, the reserves of quartz ore reach 16 million tons and the quality is excellent.

Art manufacturing

Based on the advantages of Mingshan, the township government proposed to "adjust the planting structure, develop Leizhu tea on the mountain, and engage in wood carving of ancient buildings", forming an agricultural structure mode of "fairy tea playing in the clouds on the mountain, Leizhu dancing in the wind on the hillside, orchards on the hillside, and planting grain and cotton on the farmland". Mingshan tea enjoys a high reputation. Mingshan has a long history of wood carving. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, the Imperial Palace was built. Emperor Qianlong ordered Mingshan to select ancient craftsmen. Local officials selected more than 10 craftsmen from jiushanli village of Mingshan to perform in Beijing. In May 1987, the National Palace Museum, daqianmen and other ancient wood carvings were founded by craftsmen of Mingshan township. The qualification level of the enterprise is grade 4. The company has undertaken the antique buildings of county TV station, Jingdezhen ancient kiln factory, Ceramic Museum, Ningshao guild hall, luhuanglong temple, Donglin Temple Luohan hall, Catholic Church and Xianren cave, with a construction area of more than 20000 square meters.
