Jiyang Street

Jiyang street is subordinate to Leping City, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, with an area of 18.1 square kilometers and a population of 140329 (2010). In 2001, the former Leping Town was set up as a political, economic and cultural center. The Le'an River is navigable all the year round and is a material distribution center in Northeast Jiangxi. There are Guanyin Pavilion and Guanyin spring, which are listed as one of the ten ancient scenic spots in Leping. The memorial sites include the former site of the Northeast Jiangxi Revolutionary Committee, the former site of the Soviet in Leping County, the memorial tower of the revolutionary martyrs climbing high mountains, the memorial hall and the Memorial Hall of the red ten army.

Historical evolution

It is located in the north of Le'an River (also known as Wei River, named because its tributary originates from the foot of Wei Mountain in Dexing). Jiyang is a historical ancient town. It was built in Chen Dynasty, formerly known as Huichang town. In 846, it changed its name to Huayi town. In the third year of Zhonghe (883), it was the county government of Leping. From August to December 1930, it was the seat of the county and district Soviet government. In 1943, it was the first joint insurance. In 1944, with the Inland River as the boundary, one town and two towns were set up. Later, they were changed into Fuyang town and Leping Town respectively. In 1945, the two towns were collectively called Fuyang town. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Chengguan District of Leping county was established, with five streets under its jurisdiction. It was renamed Leping Town in 1950. In 1958, it was called Leping Town commune. In 1960, the jurisdiction was expanded to 34 brigades. The original jurisdiction was restored in 1961. Leping Town was restored in December 1980. In 1997, it covers an area of 19.2 square kilometers and has a population of 83000.
