Yanghou town

Yanghou town is located in the east of Yanping District, Nanping City, Fujian Province, with the geographic coordinates of 118 ° 27 ′ - 118 ° 36 ′ E and 26 ° 35 ′ - 26 ° 43 ′ n. It is the junction of Yanping District, Gutian County and Jianou city. It borders Fengdu town of Gutian County in the East, Jukou Township and chimen township of Yanping District in the south, Nanshan Town of Yanping District in the West and Dikou town of Jianou city in the north, with convenient transportation.

In 2017, the administrative area was 11446 hectares, with a permanent population of 5769.

General situation

The original provincial highway 309 (also known as nangu line) traverses the whole territory, 62 kilometers away from Nanping City and 180 kilometers away from Fuzhou, the provincial capital.

Yanghou town governs 10 administrative villages, 55 natural villages and 75 villager groups. Most of the residents are Han nationality, with a minority of She nationality. Most of them belong to Jian'ou language family, and some of them belong to central and Western Fujian language family. With an average altitude of 290 meters, annual rainfall of 1700 mm and frost free period of more than 330 days, it is a subtropical monsoon climate.

Historical evolution

Yanghou town has a long history. The first year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1368) belonged to zunjiaoli, and the 14th year of Shunzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1657) followed the old system of the Ming Dynasty. In the 23rd year of the Republic of China, it belonged to zunjiaoxiang, the Fourth District, in the 25th year of the Republic of China, it was called zunjiaoxiang, and in the 35th year of the Republic of China, it belonged to Zunfu township.

In 1949, it belonged to Zunfu Township, the Second District, which was called Yanghou Township in 1950; in 1958, it belonged to Feiyue (Dafeng) people's commune, which was called Yanghou Management District, which was established in 1961; in 1984, it was changed to Yanghou township; in 1993, it was withdrawn from township to build town. The town government is stationed in Yanghou village, named after the village.

The town has beautiful mountains and rivers, beautiful scenery and lush forests, which effectively protect the water and soil resources. There are Sanjing scenic spot, which is called "little Guilin", Taibao temple and Dongyue Temple built in 1690, the 29th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, and revolutionary monument built to commemorate 41 revolutionaries who contributed their lives to the cause of China's Liberation in 1948.

Yanghou town is rich in resources. The total volume of forest is 379417 cubic meters, including 220737 cubic meters of timber forest, 136722 cubic meters of protective forest, 12781 cubic meters of special forest, 143 cubic meters of open forest, 8845 cubic meters of scattered trees and 189 cubic meters of roadside trees. There are 16670 mu of tea orchards and nearly 25000 mu of Moso bamboo, which are rich in local products such as Younai, xuegan, shiitake and dried bamboo shoots.

The town gradually formed a wood processing, bamboo products processing, water and electricity development based on the three pillar industries. Huixiong watch Co., Ltd., Songhe board Co., Ltd. and Minxian Food Co., Ltd. are the backbone enterprises in the town. Their main products are pine VCD frame, craft wooden clock, "Songhe" plywood, bamboo plywood, canned fresh bamboo shoots and small packaged bitter bamboo shoots and small-diameter bamboo shoots. They are exported to more than ten countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, Singapore, etc., and are welcomed by domestic and foreign merchants.

Yanghou town is rich in mineral resources. Iron and diabase are found in wangqian village and Zhongyang village, and lead-zinc ore is found in Dayan village and liangkeng village. Water resources

Yanghou town is known as the "hometown of Small Hydropower". There are four streams running through the whole territory, with abundant hydropower resources. Nine small hydropower stations have been developed and built, including Dalu power station, Xintian power station, Sanjing power station, Xiapingyang power station, Yutiao power station, yangyangkeng power station, Baishixi power station, qiaoxia power station and xibian power station, with an installed capacity of 9945 kW and an annual power generation of 42 million kwh. There are shangliangkeng power station, liangkeng power station and qingshuixi power station under development. After the completion of these power stations, the installed capacity of the whole town can reach 11340 kW, with an annual power generation capacity of 47 million kwh, providing sufficient power for the people's life and industrial production of the town.

Festival celebration

On the 13th night of the first lunar month, the villagers of Junzhu village in Mangdang town dance their homemade single bridge lamps to celebrate the annual festival in a unique way.

economic development

In 2006, Yanghou town took "people-oriented, realistic and pragmatic, and build a harmonious new Yanghou" as the working idea, focusing on eight industries, including hydropower industry, bamboo and wood processing industry, food processing industry, bamboo industry, fruit tree industry, livestock and poultry industry, hotel industry, and social public welfare undertakings. The total industrial and agricultural output value of the whole town reached 205 million yuan, including 82.23 million yuan of agricultural output value, 112.77 million yuan of industrial output value (29.5 million yuan of scale industrial output value), 2.44 million yuan of fiscal revenue, 4135 yuan of per capita net income of farmers, and 92.17% of family planning rate.
