Shennei town is under the jurisdiction of Anxi County, Fujian Province.
On June 28, 2020, the people's Government of Fujian Province agreed to abolish shennei township of Anxi County and set up shennei Town, with the administrative region and government residence unchanged.

Anxi County governs towns. It is located in the east of the county, upstream of Xixi River, 25 ° 04 ′ N and 118 ° 13 ′ E. It borders Nan'an City in the East, Fengcheng town and kuidou town in the west, Chengxiang town across the river in the south, and kuidou town and Nan'an City in the northeast. It covers an area of 50 square kilometers. The permanent resident population is 20959 (the sixth census in 2010). It has jurisdiction over 1 community and 11 administrative villages. The town government is located in Shenshan village, 7 kilometers away from the county.

It was changtaili in Song Dynasty and changtaili in Ming and Qing Dynasty. The Republic of China belongs to the county, the first district, Tai'an township. After 1949, it successively belonged to Longcheng District, the first district and Chengguan District. It belonged to Chengguan commune in November 1958, Chengguan District in August 1961 and Chengxiang commune in April 1965. In April 1984 (July of the first story), ten brigades of the former Chengxiang commune, including luonei, Yanqian, Kengtou, Meitang, Zhenzhong, Zhendong, Shenshan, Dacuo, Yuantan and HUSHUI, set up shennei township.
Tiandi village was added in August 1987. In 1992, with an area of 49.94 square kilometers and 24972 people in 5272 households, the township government was stationed in Dacuo, which has jurisdiction over 11 administrative villages including Dacuo, Meitang, Gushui, Shenshan, Yuantan, Zhendong, Zhenzhong, luonei, Kengtou, Tiandi and Yanqian, as well as yangwunei farm and Shenlin Forest Farm. In 2000, the permanent resident population was 24511. By the end of 2006, it had an area of 49.94 square kilometers and a population of 27469.

Shennei township is located in the east of Anxi County, upstream of Xixi, 7 kilometers away from the county. Covering an area of 49.94 square kilometers, the site has the tomb of King Wu of the Southern Song Dynasty.

natural resources
The township is rich in water resources. The Xixi River in the upper reaches of Jinjiang River circulates more than half of the township, and there are six hydropower stations of three to six levels, such as Luofeng, zengkeng and shenlinchang. The rural area is warm and humid, with abundant rainfall all the year round. The annual precipitation is 1500-1700mm. It is windy and sunny all the year round. The tea and fruit are fragrant. The annual average temperature is 21.3 degrees centigrade, and the frost free period is 345 days. It is rich in forest resources. The township has 47800 mu of forest land, with a forest coverage rate of 68.9%.
