Jialian street was established on December 28, 2000. It covers an area of 4.48 square kilometers and has a population of 108081 (in 2010). It has jurisdiction over 10 communities. Located in the geometric center of Xiamen Island, the street is surrounded by four main urban roads, including Jiahe Road, Luling Road, Jinshang road and Lianqian Avenue. There are more than 40 high-rise commercial and residential buildings, more than 3000 enterprises of various types, and more than 500 catering, entertainment and leisure places. It is an emerging city with prosperous commerce and trade.
