Zhuwan town

Zhuwan town is named after Zhuwan, the original name of Zhujiawan. It is a natural ancient market town. It was named after the residence of the Zhu family in the past, where Peihe River turned to the southwest of CHENGWAN. The jianian of Ming Dynasty belongs to Zhuwan market town of Shizi Township, while the jianian of Qing Dynasty belongs to zhujiawanbao of Dingcheng Xixiang township. It is one of the eight ancient towns in Dingyuan County of the Republic of China. Its long history and prosperity in the past are evidenced by the historic site "Xitu Pingfan".

Zhuwan town is located 20 kilometers southwest of Dingyuan County, 85 kilometers south of the provincial capital and 50 kilometers west of Huainan. The township was established in 1949 and changed into a town in 1989. The total land area of the town is 71.49 square kilometers. It governs 7 administrative villages, 168 villager groups and has a permanent population of 15783 (2017), all of whom are Han nationality.

Historical evolution
