Historical evolution

The ancient Haoliang city is built by jiahuai and Jiahao. It is divided into three parts by Haohe River and Huaihe River. To the north of Huaihe River is Linbei. The vast majority of the township is open and flat alluvial plain, with only a small amount of low-lying land. The altitude is 14-19 meters, and the terrain slopes slowly from west to East. The depressions are mainly distributed in Sanchong lake, yangjiahe River, Lanjiang River and so on. After long-term sediment deposition and artificial transformation, the depressions have formed cultivated land. The floodplain is mainly distributed in the North Bank of Huaihe River to the south of beiqiaodi, which changes with the bend of the river. The surface sediments are mostly sandy loam, such as the floodplain in Xuantan, Xiyuan, Dongyuan villages.

The climate is characterized by mild climate, moderate rainfall, sufficient light, long winter and summer, and short spring and autumn.

From the perspective of macro geological structure, it is located in the eastern margin of the Eurasian plate and squeezed with the Pacific plate, coupled with the shear force produced by the northward movement of the Indian plate, which has the tendency of eastward sliding. In this large tectonic area, the crustal movement is more frequent in the west side of the Tan Lu fault zone. Although there is no record of major disastrous earthquake in history, there have been several felt earthquakes. Linbei is near the Huaihe River (i.e. the elevation is below 16m), and the low-lying floodplain is rich in water content. The shallow groundwater is rich. The Quaternary aquifer is generally developed at the depth of 20-50m, and the topsoil is mostly alluvial sandy loam. Within 6-40 meters below the ground, the shallow layer is mainly composed of alluvial soil, mainly of shallow water or slightly pressurized confined water.

In summer, it is controlled by the Pacific subtropical high, with southerly wind, concentrated rainfall and high intensity, which is often easy to cause flood disaster. In autumn, the Pacific subtropical high decreases, the northern cold high strengthens, the temperature decreases and the rainfall decreases. The annual variation of rainfall is large and the seasonal distribution is uneven. In the whole year, the precipitation in July is the most, the highest is 537.3 mm, and the precipitation in December is the least. There is no rainfall in the whole month at the lowest.
