Baoding street is located in the western suburb of Wuhu, Yijiang District, north of the Yangtze River, with an area of 74.7 square kilometers and a population of 27612 (2010). It has jurisdiction over 9 administrative villages.

In December 2003, Sanshan Town, Xiaozhou Township, Baoding Township and Zhonggou Township were merged into Sanshan town. In 2006, it was under the jurisdiction of Sanshan district. In the same year, the town was withdrawn and three streets, Baoding, Longhu and Sanshan, were set up. Baoding street is a combination of Xiaozhou Township and Baoding Township in Fanchang County. Baoding township is located in the west of Yijiang District, 17 kilometers away from the county. Bao (Ding) San (Shan) highway is connected with Wu (HU) fan (Chang) highway. It is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the north. There is a Toupeng port station in Xinsheng village and a passenger and freight wharf. Baoding township was established in 1956, the commune was established in 1961, and the township was changed in 1984. In 1996, it covers an area of 43.7 square kilometers and has a population of 24000. It has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages including huanghualong, jiangba, Yapeng, taokou, Xinsheng, Dukou, tuanzhou, xuwan, Jiaowan and Yangsha. Xiaozhou township is located in the west of Yijiang District, 21.5km away from the county seat. Xiaozhou township was set up in 1953, Sanshan commune in 1958, Xiaozhou commune in 1961 and township in 1984. In 1996, it covers an area of 34.5 square kilometers and has a population of 13000. It has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages, namely xingeng, Laolong, Dayou, Hongtao, Xizhang, Liudu and Badou.
