Changtu town
Changtu town is located in the east of Daishan Island along the east coast of Zhejiang Province. It is adjacent to the high seas in the East, connected with the East China Sea from Xiaoban Island, and 15 nautical miles away from zhongjieshan fishing ground. It is adjacent to the Yellow ocean in the south, opposite to Putuo Mountain, the "sea heaven Buddha kingdom". It is adjacent to Daishan island in the west, a waterway between Gaoting and daiquyang in the north.
It has jurisdiction over 90 islands, including big and small Changtu mountain, big Yuan mountain, Duozi mountain, big and small Xizhai mountain. The land area is 64.28 square kilometers (2017), the dachangtu mountain is 43.27 square kilometers, and the xiaochangtu mountain is 10.88 square kilometers. There is a 7.8 km long and 400-700 m wide Changtu port between the two islands. Ten thousand ton ships can enter and leave freely. It is a national second-class fishing port and a famous haven for Zhoushan fishing ground. The town government is located in wojingtan, 7 nautical miles away from the county seat, 50 nautical miles away from Ningbo and 97 nautical miles away from Shanghai.
Historical evolution
In the 21st year of Daoguang reign of Qing Dynasty, it belonged to changtuzhuang, Penglai Township, Dinghai County; in the second year of Xuantong reign (1910), it belonged to changtuxiang, the 21st Township, Dinghai County; in the Republic of China, it belonged to changtuzhuang, Dinghai county;
In 1949, it was Changtu township of Wengzhou County; after liberation in May 1950, it was still Changtu Township, belonging to Daishan District of Dinghai county;
In November 1953, it was divided into eight townships, namely Changdong, Changxi, Jiangnan, xinwan, Shawan, Zhongzhu, Xijian and Dongjian. Changtu district was built, belonging to Daishan County;
In October 1956, it was divided into three townships: Changtu, Jiangnan and Changdong. In March 1957, Changdong Township became Dongjian township. In October 1958, Changtu, Jiangnan and Dongjian townships merged to build Changtu people's commune;
In October 1961, Xijian, Dongjian, waidakun, yangmeikeng and other brigades were set up to build Dongjian people's commune; in May 1962, Changtu and Dongjian people's commune returned to Daishan County;
In May 1984, Changtu and Dongjian people's communes were changed into Changtu and Dongjian townships; in January 1986, Changtu township was changed into a town; in May 1992, Dongjian township was withdrawn and merged into Changtu town, and Dongjian office was established in November 1995.
In November 1995, Dongjian office was established; in February 2005, Dongjian office was abolished and Dongjian village was built. The town governs 9 administrative villages. At the end of 2004, there were 6411 households and 14898 people in the town.
