Wangcun township was established in 1956, changed to Wangcun commune in 1961, and restored in January 1984. In 1996, it covers an area of 12.2 square kilometers and has a population of 8000. It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages, including baijiatang, Zaojiao, sunjiang, Yejia, huangtoujie, Wangcun, meijiagengshang, gaoluan, Fengjia, chenjiawei, luomaqiao, Wuhu, Fangjia, Lvjia and Dafen. The township government is located at 90 shuanggangkou road in the urban area. At the end of 2005, the organizational system of Wangcun township was abolished, and Shuanggang street was established by merging with shuangshuiqiao community of Hehua street. After the adjustment, Shuanggang Street governs Shuanggang and shuangshuiqiao communities, and 16 administrative villages including Wangcun, Yejia, gengshang, Zaojiao, sunjiang, baijiatang, Meijia, gaoluan, Dafen, Fangjia, Lvjia, Fengjia, chenjiayu, Huangtou street, luomaqiao and Wuhu. The government is located at the junction of Changshan port and Jiangshan port in the confluence of Qujiang River, so it is named "Shuanggang". It has superior geographical location and convenient transportation. Zhejiang Jiangxi railway, 320 national highway, 46 provincial passageways and Hangzhou Quzhou Expressway run through the territory.
