Historical evolution

Guanghua Street was built in 1956, abolished in 1959 and restored in 1980. In 1997, it covers an area of 1.7 square kilometers and has a population of 39000, with Oujiang River in the north. It has jurisdiction over 18 neighborhood committees, including DAQIAOTOU, Xiaheng street, Shangheng street, yuehutou, Dasuo lane, hetongqiao, Heping, Lubei, Heping Lunan, puqiao, guogongshan, jiaochangtou, coatang bridge, qierxiang, Cuiwei, Zhenning lane, Cuiwei new village, banyaoqiao and Huanglong. In 2000, it had jurisdiction over 23 neighborhood committees. In 2001, the two neighborhood committees of heheqiao and banyaoqiao were put under the jurisdiction of Lianchi sub district; they were put under the jurisdiction of Guanghua and Shuangqiao administrative villages of the original suburban township; the adjusted Guanghua sub district has jurisdiction over 21 neighborhood committees and 2 administrative villages, and its office is located in Lucheng Road. In 2002, it has jurisdiction over 10 neighborhood committees and 2 administrative villages. By the end of 2008, it had jurisdiction over puqiao, Cuiwei new village, Jishan, Jinzhai, Jixin, Yuehu, Dasuo, Jiaochang, tetao and Shuangle communities, and Guanghua and Shuangqiao administrative villages.
