Liyang Town

Liyang Town, belonging to Ninghai County, Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, is located in the east of Ninghai County, with Huchen port in the southeast, Sanmenwan in the southwest, gaicang mountain in the north and sea behind the mountain. The town covers an area of 147.4 square kilometers (2017), with 18 administrative villages, 2 neighborhood committees and a total population of 32273 (2017).

In 2005, the total social output value was 910 million yuan, including 160 million yuan of agricultural output value, 630 million yuan of industrial output value, 120 million yuan of tertiary output value, and 4320 yuan of per capita income of farmers.

Historical evolution

In June 1950, the people's Government of Liyang township was established. In June 1955, the CPC Branch Committee of Liyang township was established. In March 1956, the organizational system of the township was adjusted. The former Xicang Township and Liyang Township were merged and named Liyang township. In October 1958, Ninghai and Xiangshan counties merged, Liyang township was abolished, and Liyang third administrative region was established. At the same time, it is the resident of Xiangshan County People's government. In September 1961, Ninghai and Xiangshan were divided into counties, and Liyang third administrative area was transformed into Liyang people's commune.
