Historical evolution

Gensi hometown, formerly known as "Yang Huolang shop", was renamed in 1955 to commemorate the internationalist hero Yang Gensi. It was changed to Gensi commune in 1963 and changed to hometown in 1983. In 1996, it covers an area of 27.9 square kilometers and has a population of 25000. In 1981, Laoye commune was officially established and changed to Laoye Township in 1983. In 1996, Laoye Township, with an area of 30.2 square kilometers and a population of 25000, governed 22 administrative villages, including Yanhe, Zhouli, juzhuang, Gangshang, Yezhi, juqian, Zhongxiang, Dongye, Xiye, Beizhuang, Mazhuang, shaodang, Jiaodong, Jiaoxi, Ludang, Shuangtao, Shuangye, Lianhe, Xiaoli, Guqian, guhou and juzhuang.

In 1970, it was renamed "Yang Gensi martyr cemetery". Covering an area of 25330 square meters, there are 60 houses.
