Tianquanhu town

Tianquanhu town was established in May 2015. Located in the southwest of Xuyi county, Jiangsu Province, and at the junction of Jiangsu and Anhui provinces, it is adjacent to Tieshan temple, a national forest park. Xuyi Observatory of Zijinshan Observatory

At the top of Paoma mountain in Tieshan Temple Park stands a group of unique buildings, which is the Xuyi observation base of Zijinshan observatory. The scale of astronomical observation base is very large, ranking first in Asia and second in the world.

Because the top of Mount Paoma is flat, with nearly 1000 mu of platform land, wide field of vision, surrounded by forest coverage, no smoke pollution, no pollution source within 50 km, excellent ecological environment, good night and sky conditions, and ideal visibility. After testing, the nighttime sky brightness in Tieshansi area is 3.1 magnitude darker than that in Zitai area, so more and darker asteroids can be observed here.

It will become the main observation base of celestial mechanics in China, and also the cradle of cultivating astronomical talents in China.
