Historical evolution

859 farm, named after the code name of 8509 unit of the Chinese people's Liberation Army. In October 1956, with Dong'an town of Raohe County as the center, 859 farm was officially established under the leadership of the Agricultural Reclamation Bureau of the railway corps. In the spring of 1958, the county owned state farms were merged into 859 farms. In December of the same year, in the "people's Commune Movement", the "field community merger" was carried out. All the four people's communes in Raohe county were merged into the 859 farm, and the farm Department was moved from Dong'an town to Raohe town. In March 1962, the market and society were separated. In March 1964, the Northeast General Administration of agricultural reclamation divided the 859 farm into three farms, namely, 859 farm, Raohe farm and Shengli farm. 859 farm is under the leadership of Mudanjiang Bureau of land reclamation. In June 1968, Heilongjiang production and Construction Corps was established, and 859 farm was organized as the 23rd regiment of the third division. In August 1969, it was under the leadership of the newly formed Sixth Division. In February 1976, the production and Construction Corps was abolished, the farm system was restored, and the farm was renamed "avant-garde farm". In March 1978, the original name of 859 farm was restored and it was subordinate to Jiansanjiang farm Administration Bureau. 859 farm is located in the delta sub region of Sanjiang Plain, with lowland plain in the East and hills and hills in the West. The total area of the site is 1355 square kilometers, including 450000 mu of cultivated land and 169000 mu of natural forest land. It mainly focuses on agriculture, and also manages forestry and animal husbandry. In 1992, the total grain output was 38000 tons and the total agricultural output value was 47.62 million yuan. There are grain and oil, ash, milk powder, canned food, feed processing plants, etc. At the end of 1992, the total population was 16000. Siping Town, the site of 859 farm, got its name because it is located on the North Bank of abujiao River and on the south edge of damangang in Siping. It was originally a shrubbery and grassland. Because it was located in the main road between Dong'an town and Minzhu village, it was built here in 1956 when the railway troops were transferred to work and opened up wasteland. Since 1963, it has been the site of 859 farm, and gradually formed a small town. The town has a population of more than 4500, which has become the largest town in Raohe county.
859 branch is close to mountains and rivers, with beautiful scenery. The terrain is high in the southwest and low in the northeast. The terrain transits from Wanda mountain to Sanjiang Plain. There are "one river, four rivers and twelve mountains" in the territory. The mountains in the southwest are surrounded by dense forests. Kalka mountain, noluo mountain and other mountains constitute the remaining veins of Wanda mountain system, which is the resource treasure house of the farm. The Northeast has the same color of water and sky, and the Sanjiang Plain is endless. It is a big granary in the reclamation area. Wusuli River, Naoli River, belahong River, abujiao River, Erdao River and other water systems run through the whole area, forming Wusuli River and Naoli River Wetland Reserve. Large farmland, large wetland, large forest and large boundary river show unique northern scenery.
Taking a broad view, the Sanjiang Plain is the granary of the Republic. Wusuli River irrigation area, the largest water pumping irrigation project in Heilongjiang Province, invested 300 million yuan by the state, can irrigate 310000 mu of farmland with Wusuli River water and supply 600000 mu of water for wetland. The total grain output in the control area of the irrigation area can reach 180000 tons, and 100000 tons of pollution-free organic green rice can be produced. It has become an important base of Sanjiang "green rice capital of China".
Dong'an, a century old town under its jurisdiction, has rich cultural heritage and pleasant natural scenery. It is adjacent to the surging Wusuli River in the East and the gloomy nuolu mountain in the West. It has the reputation of "Silk Road" on water in Northeast Asia in history. Boating in Russia, one hundred years of wood carving, autumn outing in Wuhua mountain, fishing in Wusuli and Karka mountain stone forest have become the company's unique scenery.
