Yushan District, Yushan District, belongs to Ma'anshan City, Anhui Province. Yushan district is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the west, across the river from Hexian County, Hanshan county and zhengpugang New District, bordering Jiangning District of Nanjing City in the East, Dangtu County and Bowang District in the south, and Huashan District in the North, with a total area of 173 square kilometers.

Yushan district was founded in 1976 and got its name from Yushan. There are many cultural and tourism resources in Yushan, such as Caishiji, which is the first of the "three Ji of the Yangtze River", taibailou, which is one of the "three buildings and one Pavilion of the Yangtze River", ZhuRan tomb, one of the top ten archaeological discoveries in China in the 1980s, Lin Sanzhi Art Museum, Guangji temple, an ancient Buddhist temple, xiaojiuhua, an ancient human site, and yandunshan. The city's Grand Theater, library, museum, science and Technology Museum, Planning Museum and many other cultural facilities, Anhui University of technology, Wentian College of Hehai University, Maanshan vocational and technical college and Maanshan Teachers College and other six universities are located in Yushan.

Historical evolution

As early as 2200 years ago in the Qin Dynasty, the place name of niuzhu (now Caishi) was recorded, belonging to Danyang County, Kuaiji county (now Danyang Town, Dangtu County).

In 1080, Caishi town and Qingyou town (now Qingyou village, Jiashan township) in Yushan area were subordinate to Dangtu County.

Since then, this area has been under the jurisdiction of Dangtu County since the founding of Ma'anshan in 1956.

On November 15, 1956, according to the "notice on the establishment of Ma'anshan City" issued by the Anhui Provincial People's Commission, the whole Ma'anshan mining area, the whole Caishi Town, the majority of Yushan Township and the first part of Baoqing township (now Jiashan township) in Dangtu County were assigned to Ma'anshan City. On November 26 of the same year, the municipal Party committee decided to set up three streets of Ma'anshan, Xiangshan and Caishi in the urban area of Ma'anshan, and a party committee in the suburbs.

On June 1, 1976, Yushan district was officially established as one of the districts of Ma'anshan City.

In the past 20 years from 1956 to 1976, Yushan district changed with the administrative divisions of Ma'anshan City, including sub district offices and residential sections, people's communes and Township People's governments.

By June 1, 1976, Yushan district was officially established, with Yushan, Pinghu and Caishi streets under its jurisdiction. Since then, the Division has been adjusted four times.

On November 29, 1984, with the approval of the city, Yushan street was divided into Yushan street and Anmin street.

On July 13, 2001, the administrative division of Ma'anshan City was adjusted: Xiangshan Town, Yushan Township and Jiashan Township were put under the jurisdiction of Yushan district.

On January 8, 2004, Yushan Township and Jiashan Township were abolished, and the former two townships were merged into Jiashan township.

Yushan district is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the west, facing Hexian county and Hanshan across the river, Jiangning District of Nanjing City in the East, Dangtu County and Bowang District in the south, and Huashan District in the north, with a total area of 173 square kilometers.

The terrain of the rain mountain area is high in the East and low in the West. The eastern part is mostly hilly with an altitude of 100-200 meters, which is the birthplace of Cihu River and Caishi River in Ma'anshan City. The highest elevation of Mt. Jishan is 232 meters; the central and western regions are mostly plain and polder areas with crisscross ditches and dense lakes and ponds; in the west, along the Yangtze River from south to north, there are cuiluo mountain, Jiuhua Mountain and Xishan Mountain in turn, and they form a long and narrow belt-shaped mountain range.

Nanjing station of Beijing Shanghai high speed railway is about 20 kilometers away from Ma'anshan City. The Nanjing anqing intercity railway under construction runs through Ma'anshan City. After it is completed and opened to traffic, it takes only 15 minutes from Ma'anshan to Nanjing and one and a half hours to Shanghai.
