Introduction to the park

Taizhou pharmaceutical high tech Industrial Development Zone (Jiangsu Taizhou Economic Development Zone) was established in 1996 with the approval of Jiangsu Provincial People's government. It has developed and built an area of 25 square kilometers, realizing "seven links and one leveling" within the built-up area. It has national science and technology innovation service center, International Students Pioneer Park, software park and other innovation and entrepreneurship platforms. After years of construction, the development pattern of "one zone and four parks" has been formed, namely high-tech park, Binjiang Industrial Park, Chunlan Industrial Park and private science and technology park. The planning area of the high-tech park is 32 square kilometers, initially forming the electromechanical, textile and new energy industrial clusters. With a planning area of 9.98 square kilometers, Binjiang Industrial Park is one of the five professional chemical industrial parks in China, focusing on the development of petrochemical, building materials and other industries. Chunlan Industrial Park, with a planning area of 4.42 square kilometers, has two large home appliance enterprises, Chunlan and LG. The planning area of private science and technology park is 10 square kilometers, mainly absorbing private capital.

In 2007, with the approval of the provincial people's government, Taizhou Economic Development Zone was renamed Taizhou pharmaceutical high tech Industrial Park. The second national high tech Zone with professional characteristics in China

As a pillar industry, the total economic volume and economic benefit of the pharmaceutical industry in our city ranked first in the province for six consecutive years, and the output value accounted for one third of the province. In 2005, the provincial Party committee and the provincial government asked Taizhou to speed up the development of the pharmaceutical industry and build a Chinese pharmaceutical city. The municipal Party committee and the municipal government made the decision of "building a Chinese pharmaceutical city with the strength of the whole city", and put the creation of a national high-tech zone of pharmaceutical industry on the agenda.

The national science and technology conference held in January 2006 proposed to build an innovative country by 2020. In order to seize this historic opportunity, in August 2007, the municipal government submitted to the provincial government the request for instructions on upgrading the provincial Taizhou pharmaceutical high tech Industrial Development Zone to the national Taizhou pharmaceutical high tech Industrial Development Zone. In September 2007, the provincial government formally submitted the upgrading request to the State Council.

Since then, the relevant state ministries and commissions have visited Taizhou for many times, and led by the general office of the State Council, the Ministry of science and technology, the Ministry of land and resources, the Ministry of construction and other ministries and commissions have conducted several rounds of joint review, and reported to the State Council for approval.

Xu Shuping, director of the Municipal Bureau of science and technology, said that since the establishment of 52 national high-tech zones in the early 1990s, the state only approved the agricultural high-tech demonstration park in Yangling, Shaanxi in 1997 and the National High-tech Zone in Ningbo, Zhejiang in 2007. The upgrading of the national Taizhou pharmaceutical high tech Zone is the first national high tech Zone with professional characteristics approved by the State Council after 12 years. It is the result of strict screening, strict assessment and open selection by relevant national ministries and commissions.

Along with Taizhou Pharmaceutical Development Zone, Xiangtan high tech Industrial Park has been approved as a "national brand".

Promoting industrial transformation and upgrading in Taizhou

According to the plan, Taizhou pharmaceutical high tech Zone is composed of R & D pilot zone, pharmaceutical industry zone, comprehensive and supporting zone, and the leading industries are pharmaceutical manufacturing, electromechanical and new material manufacturing.

Tang Weiguo, vice president of Taizhou Branch of the Provincial Academy of Social Sciences, said that industrial clusters have the dual characteristics of cross regional and cross industrial allocation of development factors, and their pulling and radiating effects on the regional economy are very significant. After the upgrading of Taizhou pharmaceutical national high tech Zone, domestic and foreign pharmaceutical resources will accelerate to gather in Taizhou, the cluster effect of Taizhou pharmaceutical industry will be multiplied, and the status and influence of Taizhou pharmaceutical industry in the whole province and even the whole country will also be significantly improved.
