Wushan County, belonging to Tianshui City, Gansu Province, is located in the southeast of Gansu Province. It is located in the composite zone of the western part of the northern slope of Qinling Mountains and the southwest edge of Longzhong Loess Plateau, with an altitude of 1365-3120 meters, belonging to temperate continental semi humid monsoon climate. It has a total area of 2011 square kilometers and a total population of 460000 (2012). In 2012, the gross output value of Wushan County was 3888.11 million yuan.
There are water curtain cave, wooden ladder temple, Laojunshan Forest Park, Caochuan prairie and other scenic spots in Wushan. Wushan is a national standardized vegetable production demonstration county, a national green vegetable demonstration county, a national key vegetable production county, "the hometown of Chinese leek", "the hometown of Chinese folk culture and art", "the hometown of national martial arts" and "the hometown of jade".
On April 28, 2019, the Gansu Provincial Government approved the formal withdrawal of Wushan County from poverty-stricken counties.
Historical evolution
During the Qin and Han Dynasties, most of the county belonged to chendao, and the east of Luomen town belonged to Jixian.
In 188, Xiangwu and Chen were established in Xinxing County, which is located 15 km west of Xinxing County (in the area of jiejiamen in the west of guangwupo), belonging to Nan'an county.
The name of Wucheng county was changed in the Wei Dynasty of the Three Kingdoms, which was soon abolished and renamed Xinxing County. It is located in Zhongtao county. Its former site is near Yuanyang town.
During the period of Sixteen States in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, seven northern states, including former Zhao, later Zhao, Qianliang, Former Qin, later Qin, Western Qin and Daxia, successively occupied the area, which lasted for more than 100 years.
In the eighth year of Taiping Zhenjun (447) of the Northern Wei Dynasty, Zhongtao was merged into Xinxing and was subordinate to Guangning County of Weizhou. Sui kaihuang ten years (590), new merged into Longxi County, under Longxi County.
In the second year of zongbaoying (763), the county was reduced to Tubo, which lasted for 78 years. Xiantong seven years (866) recovery, is Longyou road Weizhou.
During the Five Dynasties period, the county was Jimi land (granted to the affiliated Tubo people) for 53 years.
In the third year of emperor Zhenzong's reign in the Northern Song Dynasty (1019), Ningyuan village was built in the north of the county, belonging to Qinzhou, Qinfeng road. Xining five years (1072), to the ancient weizhai (now Longxi) to build Tongyuan army, Ningyuan village is Tongyuan army. Huizong Chongning three years (1104), Ningyuan village for Ningyuan County, gongchang road Gongzhou.
In the first month of the ninth year of the golden Society (1131), Ningyuan was trapped in gold. Taihe seven years (1207) and down to Ningyuan village, is Lintao road Tongyuan army. In the third year of Jin Tianxing, the sixth year of Duanping in the Southern Song Dynasty, and the sixth year of Taizong in the Mongolian Khanate (1234), the song and Mongolian allied forces destroyed Jin, and Ningyuan village belonged to the Mongolian Khanate.
In 1279, Ningyuan county was restored to Gongzhou, gongchang road.
The Ming and Qing Dynasties followed the system of Ningyuan County, belonging to gongchang Prefecture. The county included the existing region and Mawu and Xinsi towns. At the end of Qing Dynasty, Mawu was assigned to Minxian county.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), because of the same name as Ningyuan County in Hunan Province, the Interior Department of the Beiyang warlord government decided to change its name to Wushan County, which belongs to Weichuan road. In July 1928, the road was abandoned and Weichuan administrative region was established, which was soon abolished. In 1934, Tianshui administrative supervision district was set up, with jurisdiction over 15 counties, including Wushan; in July 1935, the fourth administrative supervision district of Gansu Province was changed to Wushan. In April 1940, the 17 villages of luojiagou, Luojia Town, mujiayao, chuankouxia, chuankouxian, hejiapo, danjiagou, caijiaping, huangjiali, Wujiashan, wayaoxia, Liushugou, shibanshang, quanzhuangxia, dandaoxia, dingjiazuishang, Hualinhe and the 3 villages of wangjiaping, yechixia and xinzuili, which are inserted into Zhangxian County, belong to Zhangxian County, and Zhangxian county is inserted into Wushan County The xujiamen in the territory belongs to Wushan. In 1942, sun Jiamen of Zhangxian county was transferred to Wushan. In August 1946, the flower arrangement enclaves near shimiaoer in Wushan and Gangu were adjusted. From shimiaoer along taotian highway to zhangjiashanbao East-West edge line to jiajiagou, it belongs to Gangu County in the East and Wushan County in the West; from shimiaoer along taotian highway, it goes down the left side ridge of Lijiaping to butaigou in the East, turns gaojiashanbao in the north to Zhenjiashan line, belongs to Gangu County in the East and Wushan County in the West.
After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the name of Wushan County is still used, which belongs to Tianshui District inspector general's office of Gansu Province.
In April 1951, it belongs to Tianshui district.
In 1953, the eastern boundary of the county was divided into five villages, namely, maijiazhuang, taizishang, Wuzhuang, duojiawan, Zhangjiagou and pengjiapo, which belonged to Gangu County. In the west of the county, nine villages, Zhongling, xujiamen, Lijiahe, zhaojiaping, Dongjiahe, jingjiahe and Songjiagou, are designated to belong to Zhangxian county.

In April and December 1958, Zhangxian county and Gangu County were merged into Wushan County, with a total area of 5368 square kilometers.
In December 1961, the three counties were separated and the original Wushan County was restored.

On October 9, 2015, Wenquan Township, Hualin Township, Longtai Township and yupan Township in Wushan County were changed into Wenquan Township, Hualin Township, Longtai Township and yupan Township according to the reply of Gansu Provincial Department of Civil Affairs on 22 townships including Qishou Township in Qinzhou District of Tianshui City (GMF [2015] No. 113).
In January 2017, with the approval of Gansu Provincial Department of civil affairs, Yanghe Township and Gaolou township of Wushan County were changed from township to town.
