Raoping County Raoping County is a county under the jurisdiction of Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province. Located in the east of Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, Fujian Province in the East and Nanhai in the south, it governs 21 towns, 1 forest farm and 394 Village (neighborhood) committees. It covers an area of 2227 square kilometers, including land area of 1694 square kilometers, sea area of 533 square kilometers, and island coastline of 136 kilometers. At the end of 2016, 1 million 71 thousand registered residence and 872 thousand permanent residents.

The Dingwei revolution in Huanggang (Huanggang uprising), which started on April 11, 1907, was the third armed uprising led by Sun Yat Sen to overthrow the feudal monarchy of the Qing Dynasty, four years earlier than the revolution of 1911. On June 3, 2010, Raoping County was recognized as the "Central Soviet area county" by the Party History Research Office of the CPC Central Committee. There are 54 national, provincial and county-level cultural relics protection units in the county, of which "Daoyun building" in Sanrao is listed as the national key cultural relics protection unit, 8 cultural relics such as "Zhenfeng tower" in Zhelin and "Dingwei revolution memorial Pavilion" in Huanggang are listed as provincial cultural relics protection units, and Raoping horse dance and Sanrao "Qingcai art" are listed as provincial intangible cultural heritage protection list.

Jieyang county (belonging to Nanhai county) was set up in the sixth year of Yuanding (111 BC) of the Western Han Dynasty, including Raoping area.
In 331, Nanhai county was divided into Dongguan county and Jieyang County into Haiyang, Chaoyang, sui'an and Haining counties. Raoping belongs to Haiyang County, Dongguan county. In 1243, Chaozhou magistrate Zheng Liangchen presided over the establishment of Huanggang City village. In 1246, Chaozhou Governor Chen Gui donated money to build Linjiang bridge, Chentang bridge, Shuimotou bridge, baizhangpu bridge, Huanggang Wuli bridge, Zhulin jingnei bridge, Zhulin second bridge and other stone bridges.

Raoping County was set up in 1477, the 13th year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty. This paper analyzes the two capitals of Xuanhua and Xinning in Taiping Township of Haiyang county (today's Chao'an District), the three capitals of luanzhou, Qingyuan and Xiange in Guangde Township, and the three capitals of Qiuxi, longyancheng and Suwan in Huaide township. A total of eight capitals are set up in Raoping County. The county government is located in xiaraobao (now Sanrao town) of xiangedu (renamed yuangedu in Qing Dynasty), and the county (Tucheng) is built. Before that, Wang Shipeng, a scholar of LongTuge in the Southern Song Dynasty, had traveled to Rao, stayed at Shuangliu temple at night, heard the sound of drum horns, looked around, saw the beautiful mountains and rivers, and said that this place would be a city in the future. Therefore, the inscription "the world is in chaos, and there is no worry here; the world is in famine, and there is half harvest here" means that the name of the county "Raoping" was chosen when the county was set up, and "Raoping will never be barren, and peace will never be chaos" was also covered. The county government was set up in xiaraobao (now Sanrao town), the capital of string songs.
In 1526, luanzhou and Qingyuan of Guangde Township were set up as Dapu county.
In 1565, the capital of Qiuxi in Huaide township was assigned to Haiyang County, and the capital of Suwan was assigned to Chenghai county.
In 1576, Nanao 4 (Shen, long, Qing, Yun) in Xinning capital of Taiping Township was designated as Nanao town (Nanao town was under the control of Zhangchao Association, which was jointly managed by Zhaoan County and Raoping County). Among them, Qingao and yunao are under the jurisdiction of Zhaoan County, while Shenao and Longao are under the jurisdiction of Raoping County.
In 1669, Qing and Yun'ao in charge of Zhao'an County returned to Raoping County. In 1685, Nan'ao town was restored, and qing'ao and Yun'ao were under the jurisdiction of Zhao'an county.

When Raoping was established as a county, it had a vast territory, with a total area of more than 5000 square kilometers. In 1526, the state and Qingyuan of Guangde Township were set up as Dapu county. In the 44th year of Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1565), the Qiuxi capital of Huaide township was assigned to Haiyang County, and the Suwan capital was assigned to Chenghai county. In 1576, Nan'ao 4 (Shen, long, Qing, Yun) in Xinning capital of Taiping Township was designated as Nan'ao town (Nan'ao town was under the control of Zhang Chao Association, which was jointly managed by Zhao'an county and Raoping County). Nanao town was withdrawn in 1669, and Qingao and yunao under the jurisdiction of Zhaoan County were returned to Raoping County. In 1685, Nan'ao town was restored, and qing'ao and Yun'ao were under the jurisdiction of Zhao'an county. In 1732, Nan'ao department was set up in the new development zone of Qing Dynasty, and its administrative subordination was disconnected from Raoping. Since the founding of the people's Republic of China, the county has changed four times. On October 25, 1949, the county belonged to Longdu district (with an area of 65.7 square kilometers) and was under the jurisdiction of Chenghai county. In September 1956, the three villages of ShangTao, Pingshi and Shangyuan (covering an area of 10 square kilometers) in Sanrao district were put under the jurisdiction of Dapu county. In November 1958, the county belonged to Fenghuang district (with an area of 305 square kilometers) and was under the jurisdiction of Chaoan County.
