A Chinese idiom, Yu ā NY ú C ó ngqu è in pinyin, means to drive fish into the deep pool and birds into the jungle. It originally refers to the tyranny of the ruler and the people fleeing to other countries, but now it also refers to the people who can unite to drive the enemy. It comes from Mencius · Lilou Shang.

The source of the idiom is Mencius · liloushang: "those who drive fish for the deep, otter also.". For Cong to drive the nobility, he was also a rower; for Tang Wu to drive the people, Jie and Zhou were also
