The sound of flies and the sound of frogs
As a Chinese idiom, the Pinyin is y í ngsh à NGW à Z à o, which means that flies and frogs call incessantly; it refers to inferior and disease-free poems. From preface to fan Xiqing's poetry anthology.
The idiom comes from Qian Qianyi's preface to fan Xiqing's poetry anthology in Qing Dynasty: "today, I was born under a hundred generations. If I want to match the ancients with my flying voice and impetuousness, Li Ran would like to ask Li and Du for advice. I would like to comment on his short-term and long-term. The mayfly shakes the tree, so I can smile."
