Chinese idiom, Pinyin is sh ō UC á nzhu ì y ì, which means to collect the incomplete and make up for the missing. It comes from Shaoshi Shanfang bicong, the second book of classics.

According to the book Shaoshi Shanfang bicong · Jingji Huitong 2 written by Hu Yinglin in Ming Dynasty, "Yu Pingsheng was good at collecting the classics, but limited to his strength, and collected the remains to make up the anecdotes, which was mentioned in the preface of Ziyuan."
