Abandon one's armor and lose one's Crossbow
Abandon armor and bear crossbow, a Chinese idiom, Pinyin is Q ì Ji ǎ f ù n ǔ, which means to discard armor and carry bow and crossbow; it describes defeat. It comes from Han Feizi, first meeting Qin.
The origin of Idioms
Han Fei, Han Fei of the Warring States period, said in Han Fei Zi's first meeting with Qin: "it was only when the senior soldiers came to attack Handan that they could not pull out their weapons. They abandoned their armour and lost their crossbows, but when the war was won, the power of Qin had been measured by the whole world."
