Secret engagement, a Chinese idiom, Pinyin is m ì Yu ē t ō UQ ī, which means that men and women in love meet secretly. It comes from the Peony Pavilion: a dream.
The origin of Idioms
Tang Xianzu of the Ming Dynasty wrote in the Peony Pavilion a dream: "this beautiful woman and talented person, who had a secret engagement before, became Qin and Jin Dynasty after."
