The origin of Idioms
Chapter 25 of Pingyao Zhuan: "the immortal said that he was the God of the state. After drinking and eating with the villain, he brought it out and asked the villain to give it to the official of the state. He was not allowed to let out the secret."
Idiom usage
To divulge a secret. The official said that Wei Yifang did not agree with the law and let out the secret, so he should be guilty. He was so anxious that Wei Yifang kowtowed to him. Feng Menglong's Yu Shi Ming Yan in Ming Dynasty Volume 33
