The documentary "walking alone" is a 2013 cultivation project of "Innovative Experimental Zone of media art talent training mode of the Ministry of education", which is produced by the school of drama, film and television of Communication University of China.

The film tells the story of a mountain village, a school in the mountains. The only substitute teacher is 60 years old, but there is no replacement teacher so far. The school is facing the dilemma of being cancelled without teachers. With the rapid development and rapid change of prosperous material civilization, Xiaoshan village continues its inherent pace and lifestyle. Almost all the young people in the village go out to work and move out one after another.
