The Chinese idiom is h ó ngsh ā NGF ù g ǔ, which means a very rich and well-off businessman. It comes from the book of appellations, merchants and rich merchants.
The idiom comes from Liang Zhangju's address book - Merchants - rich merchants in Qing Dynasty: "rich merchants, dancers in groups."
