In the winter of 597 B.C., the state of Chu attacked the state of Xiao and surrounded the city of Xiao. Shen shuzhan, the official of the state of Chu, and Wu she, the official of the state of Xiao, were good friends, and Wu she was still in the city. Shen shuzhan could not help him clearly, so he had to use the sign of "river fish stomach disease" to hide in a dry well and escape. Later, he finally rescued his friend.
