The origin of Idioms
The language version of the book, Zhouguan, says, "a position is not expected to be arrogant, but a salary is not expected to be extravagant." Confucius said: "pride is not related to arrogance, but pride comes; wealth is not related to extravagance, but extravagance comes from itself, and arrogance and extravagance are related to self-discipline, so they die quickly."
