Gaobu yunqu is a Chinese idiom. Its pinyin is g ā ob ù y ú NQ ú, which refers to a prominent position. It originally refers to a high official position, and then refers to the imperial examination. It comes from the biography of Jishen in Jinshu.
The origin of Idioms
Fang Xuanling and other scholars in Tang Dynasty wrote in the book of Jin, biography of Yingshen: "when Yingshen was working in Jiazhou, he answered the call with his sleeve. He was also well known for asking questions from the heaven, walking high and seeking wisdom."

It refers to the position of an official. During the imperial examination, many poor scholars hoped to get rid of poverty.
