The lines are like water
As a Chinese idiom, di à NW é NR ú Shu à in pinyin means that the bamboo mat has a fine texture like cool water, which is often used to describe the cool summer night. It's from five poems in Nantang.
The origin of Idioms
Su Shi of Song Dynasty wrote five poems in Nantang: "sweeping the floor, burning incense, closing the pavilion and sleeping, the patterns on the floor are like water and the tent is like smoke."
Idiom usage
It's cool in summer. Example: in the Song Dynasty, Xin Qiji's yujiexing: "the gauze kitchen is like dancing, the pattern on the mat is like water, and there is no place to cool."
