Cang Jingyu (1815-1881), whose name is Jingze, was born in cangjia village, 25 Li East of Zhongmou county. In the Qing Dynasty, there were many talented people in Cang family, officials above the county level, and more than 10 famous people in yastar. They were one of the villages with more people in Zhongmou at that time.

Family profile

Cang Jingyu was born in the 20th year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty. His original name was Jingtian. Later, he changed his name to Jingyu to avoid Emperor Guangxu (Zai Tian). Tsang Sheng Mai was the chief officer of Wu Ying Dian in the Imperial Academy during the Qianlong period. Zu Si Zhen was Dr. Tai Chang, and his father Zhao Bin donated to the county magistrate. His father was good at poetry and calligraphy, and he was well influenced by his family in his youth. In addition, he was intelligent and eager to learn, so he made excellent achievements. In 1838, when he was 23 years old, he was a senior high school scholar. He was given the title of Imperial Academy scholar, and later changed to editor. Because of his outstanding literary talent, he was transferred from Beijing to Hubei as an instructor, and successively served as Hunan provincial governor and Yunnan provincial governor. In his later years, he retired from his official position and returned to his hometown. He was specially appointed as the lecturer of Daliang Academy in Kaifeng (the highest institution in Henan at that time).

Literature and art

In 1870, Wu Ruoling, the magistrate of Tongzhi County, asked him to write the stele of rebuilding academy, which was recorded in Zhongmou Tongzhi's Zhongmou county annals. In the 10th year of Tongzhi, Ouyang Lin, magistrate of Ye County, invited Cang Jingyu, the lecturer of Daliang academy, to compile Ye county annals, which was completed in March. At this time, Jingyu was famous for his knowledge and calligraphy. During the period from Xianfeng to Tongzhi, the Nien army moved to attack Gongxian County in Henan Province, and the county magistrate abandoned the city and fled. Kang Wanyi led his descendants and villagers to build a Golden Valley Village on the top of the South five saints of Kang family manor to resist the Nian Army. The Nian army retreated after a long time. For a time, Henan officials and famous calligraphers wrote praises for him, and Cang Jingyu also wrote a poem at the invitation. The poem says: the north and south of the great river are like the flames of war, and the justice is like the oral tradition of the king. Heroic enough to enter the knight errant biography, the rest of his life miserable gray years. Vow to remember the bitter Zhong Gu indignation, the crisis is sad, the strategy is perfect. The month before last, every family was reunited. It is still embedded on the wall of Shiping kiln in KangBaiWan manor with other steles, which is a precious cultural relic for later generations to study the art of Cang's calligraphy. Yan Zhenqing, the master of Jingyu, has his works in Henan Museum.
