Yao Bi is a prose writer in Song Dynasty. Zi Zhang, born in Jintan. Huang you first year (1049) Jinshi, granted Xiangcheng order, Tongzhou pass, all have praise.

He was good at diction. When he was good at diction, he respected each other with writing. When he only studied the heart of the six classics, he was sure to seek the truth if his meaning was not secure. Therefore, it is a kind of writing, which is full of vigour, thousands of words a day, all of which are insightful and belong to reason. At that time, celebrities such as Ouyang Xiu and Wang Anshi all traveled with him. He tasted Su Xun's book of rites and wrote one hundred volumes of Taichang Yingge rites. Ouyang Xiu said that his "contribution to later generations is not to stop the works of vulgar Confucianism, but to seek the fame of the moment."
