Wu Yu (1443-1526) was born in Kunshan (now Jiangsu Province) of Suzhou Prefecture in southern Zhili. The officials went to Henan to participate in politics.

Wu Yu (1443-1526) was born in Kunshan (now Jiangsu Province) of Suzhou Prefecture in southern Zhili. He is the great ancestor of Wu Weiye, a literary giant in the Qing Dynasty. He was a Jinshi in the 11th year of Chenghua. He was appointed the head of the Ministry of punishment in Nanjing and took part in politics in Henan Province. The posterity praises and says: the piece of speech breaks the prison, but sincerity is clear. It is hard to deceive the people, but injustice will be heard.
