Wu Shoupeng

Mr. Wu's work "biography of Tang poetry" was published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House in November 2012.. Mr. Wu wrote biographies for 174 poets in Tang Dynasty, and selected some excellent poems, totaling more than 1080 with detailed notes. The book consists of six volumes, more than 1.2 million words, divided into two volumes.

brief introduction

Wu Shoupeng (1906-1987), born in Wuxi in 1906 as runshe, joined the Kuomintang in his early years, served in the national government, and later engaged in industry.

experience

In 1926, he graduated from the Department of mechanical engineering of Shanghai Jiaotong University. In 1929, he went to Japan to investigate the "reasons for the success of Meiji Restoration" and sought the way to strengthen the country and enrich the people. He successively served in the military and political organs of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Hunan and other provinces. He once served as the director of Haitang emergency engineering department and deputy director of Engineering Bureau. Later, he served in railway, water conservancy, shipping, chemical, non-ferrous metal and other enterprises in Beijing, Qingdao and other places Professional engineer. He was arrested in June 1955 when the rebellion was eradicated and released in February of the following year. Wu is proficient in ancient Greek and has translated the works of Aristotle and others for many years. Wu is a translator of Greek, especially Aristotle's works. Some scholars call him the first person to translate Aristotle's works. Due to Hu Qiaomu's concern and academic contribution, he was later added as a member of the Qingdao Municipal Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference.

Mr. Wu is familiar with several languages, such as ancient Greek and English, as well as various ancient and modern Chinese documents. His knowledge is really profound. Therefore, his translation writing is fluent and his diction is accurate, which is worth reading. In 1987, Mr. Wu Shoupeng passed away in the process of sorting out the manuscript of this book.

Mr. Wu's "poetry collection of dashushanfang" was published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House in December 2008. It collects more than 450 poems written by Mr. Wu in his life. The content covers all ages, at home and abroad, and is very extensive. It can be widely seen and heard with modern scientific and technological knowledge and detailed notes.
