Shan Kui, whose name is Yuqing, was born in Qiantang (now Hangzhou, Zhejiang). Xiaozong's Qiandao is the judgment of Dali.

In the first year of emperor Xiaozong's reign of Qiandao (1165), he was a judge of Dali (official rank No. 71-12 of Song Hui yao ji draft).
