1815-1867, Renfu, Xianqiao, dongshahu, Liaoyang. The son of Liu Mingzhen. Tongzhi six years, died in Liaoyang.

He was intelligent and eager to learn when he was young. He was able to write poems at the age of 9. At the age of 23 and 24, he took the local examination and the national examination successively. All of them were named "Ding you Zhongju and Wu Xu became Jinshi", which was a good story in Liaoyang literary circle for a time. Daoguang 19 years (AD 1839) as Guangdong Pingyuan county magistrate. In 1840, when the Opium War broke out, Liu Wenlin wrote a series of tragic poems. Liu Wenlin was the first poet to create literature in the background of the Opium War. Therefore, today's scholars call Liu Wenlin the first person in the history of modern Chinese literature. Later, he went to Wenchang County of Hainan Province as magistrate. Xianfeng first year (AD 1851), to Henan Shenqiu County Magistrate. Shen Qiu was demoted because he was impeached for exposing the accumulated deficit of the official office. He abandoned his official and returned home in anger. He was first employed as a lecturer of Shenyang Cuisheng academy, and then returned to his hometown of Liaoyang, where he studied and wrote behind closed doors. He wrote twelve volumes of Xianqiao Shichao.
