Chu changzuo (1559-1630) was born in Yixing, South Zhili. Officials in the late Ming Dynasty.

Personage introduction

Chu changzuo was a top three Jinshi in 1589. He served as magistrate of Poyang and Pucheng County, and made outstanding achievements. After leaving office, he was worshipped in the famous official temples in both counties. He was promoted to Chongqing military affairs and returned to his hometown. Chu changzuo was honest and upright, and did not agree with the Donglin Party members who regarded themselves as "clean and honest". He thought that they "gathered disciples instead of learning and flaunted, and defeated different party members", which did not meet the standard of the scholar bureaucrats in his heart.

His younger brother, Chu xianzuo, was also a Jinshi. He was an official in Hunan Province. Both of them have biographies.

Since the Song Dynasty, the Chu family in Yixing has had a family name. Chu changzuo, sun Chuxin, was a famous writer in the early Qing Dynasty. Great grandchildren Chu Shanqing, Chu Fangqing, xuansun Chu Zaiwen, Chu Dawen, Chu Yuwen, Chu Xiongwen, Lai Sun Chu Jinguan, Chu Zhaofeng, Chu Yuansheng, and the sixth generation of sun chubaoshu and Chu secretary were all Jinshi.
