Linwai (1106-1170), born in Maping village, Jinjiang, Fujian Province in Song Dynasty, is the eighth grandson of Linzhi. He was born in the fifth year of Chongning (1106) and died in the sixth year of Qiandao (1170).

Frustrations in the imperial examination

The road of imperial examination outside the forest was very tortuous. It was not until the thirtieth year of Shaoxing (1160) of Emperor Gaozong of the Song Dynasty, when he was over the age of knowing the destiny, that he became a Jinshi. He was appointed to be the magistrate of Xinghua County, and his official career stopped.

Lin'an residence

He stayed in Hangzhou and was proud of wine. He once drank in Hangzhou West Lake wine shop and wrote a poem in the wall. Poem: when will the West Lake's singing and dancing stop? The warm wind makes the tourists drunk and makes Hangzhou bianzhou! Everyone was surprised to think that God, his pen stabbed at the small Zhao Dynasty who was secretly in a corner at that time, expressed the sadness and indignation in the hearts of the people; at the same time, he warned Zhao Jun Chen: don't be extravagant and indulgent again, it was the same before the fall of Bianjing! The most popular song of all time is the title of Lin'an residence. Who is the author? Some of them are for "Lin Sheng" and others for "outside the forest". Because the handwriting on the wall is cursive, "Sheng" and "outside" are similar in shape, and they have never been able to agree. The poem "Lin Sheng" is recorded in the West Lake Tour annals, which is regarded as "outside the forest" by textual research. "Songkaiji Maping (Ping) Lin's genealogy spy" said that Lin Wai was "smart in CI and uninhibited in conversation". When he was young, he had traveled to Su and Ji areas. Because of repeated trials, he also heard and witnessed that the Zhao Dynasty was dazzled, corrupt and cynical. He often wore Taoist clothes, and wrote poems everywhere to vent his depression.

Other works

In addition to the poem titled Lin'an residence, he once came to the Chuihong bridge in the east of Suzhou City, and saw that the bridge was magnificent, with 72 caves, such as a rainbow lying on the waves. The scenery was full of emotion, and his literary thoughts surged. The letter pen inscribed a word on the flying frame of a cave, and sent the song of Dongxian: the flying frame presses the water, and the rainbow shadow is clear. Who knows that I've been across the world several times with one sword? According to the jade dragon, hiss is not broken, the moon is cold and the waves are cold; when you go back, there is no lock at the cave gate. Recognize the cloud screen smoke Zhang is my Lu, any covered with moss, year after year do not sweep. Later, it was copied to song Gaozong, with legend that it was written by immortal LV Dongbin. Zhao Gou was familiar with the rhyme and rhyme of the poem. After reading it, he pondered for a moment, then said with a smile, "which is the immortal? This is clearly written by Fujian scholars! " The left and right ministers were baffled, so they asked for advice. Zhao Gou said: "most of the rhymes in this poem have Minnan dialect." In the second half of this word, the "Mao", "Guo", "Suo" and "Sao" are only pronounced in Minnan dialect. It was not until a long time later that people knew that Lin Sheng was on the top of the cabin, facing up and writing his words on the flying beam. After writing, the ship will go without trace. It's really original and ingenious. No wonder people were so surprised by the gods at that time. Another time, Lin Sheng traveled alone to the West Lake, wearing Taoist clothes and drinking in a secluded hotel. He asked the bartender to take money from the tiger skin purse on his back and buy wine according to the amount of money. After drinking, he drank again until the evening. "If you drink several times, you won't get drunk." someone came to see the money in his purse, but it didn't decrease. Everyone was surprised and thought that they had met "immortal". When he was about to leave, he borrowed some ink from outside the forest and wrote a poem in the wall of the hotel: in the old life of medicine stove and Danzao, my family was deep in the white clouds; in Jiangcheng, I love wine but never go back, but the old peach blossoms endlessly. The next day, it was said that there were "immortals" coming to drink in a hotel in West Lake, and so on. Another time, when he saw the cloud covered peak near the West Lake, half hidden in the morning fog, he immediately wrote a poem: a peak stands out of the world, and it is said that the cloud covered mountain has been built since ancient times; it's not the clouds that cover the top of the mountain, but the peak is steep into the clouds! He exposed his noble character of not conforming to the common customs. Lin Sheng has two sons, the first is Lin Qian, the second is Lin Kun. Lin Qian moved to Chenjiang (Chendai) and became the founder of the Lin family in Chendai, Jinjiang. In 1170, he died outside the forest and was buried in Lingyuan mountain with his second ancestor Linzhi.
