Yang Yun is the grandson of Yang Jian, Emperor Wen of Sui Dynasty, and the third son of Yang Yong, the abandoned Prince of Sui Dynasty. His mother is the daughter of Yun Dingxing, an excellent craftsman. His mother, Yun, was recruited by Yang Yong to the east palace as zhaoxun, and then gave birth to two sons, Yang Yu and Yang Yun.
