How to do when nosebleed

Nose is divided into two parts by nasal septum, the front gathered a large number of capillaries, is the most common bleeding place. The nasal membrane, which covers the olfactory nerve of the nose, is fragile and easy to be injured. In dry weather, or bumping, such as digging the nostrils, rubbing the nose, blowing the nose or sneezing frequently, the nasal membrane may be damaged, leading to nosebleed.

Generally speaking, the symptoms of nosebleed are quite mild. You can give first aid or get help by yourself. The procedure is as follows:

(1) Sit down and loosen the clothes around your neck.

(2) Slightly forward, do not look up, should let the nosebleed from the nasal outflow, rather than backflow into the throat.

(3) Breathe with your mouth and squeeze the bridge of your nose for about 5 minutes.

(4) 5 minutes later, if the nasal bleeding, you can relax the bridge of the nose, or you should continue to squeeze the bridge of the nose.

(5) After nasal hemostasis, continue to breathe by mouth. Do not blow your nose or try to remove blood clots in the nasal cavity within 4 hours.

If the bleeding still can not be controlled, the bleeding lasts for more than 20 minutes, or the nose is hit and injured, and there are symptoms such as displacement, swelling or discoloration, you should go to the hospital immediately to see a doctor.

In order to avoid nose bleeding due to dryness, we should keep the humidity of nostrils at ordinary times, drink more water, or apply vaseline and other lubricants in nostrils as needed, which can alleviate the epistaxis caused by dryness. In winter, when the home heating is very hot, you should also put a cup or a basin of water beside the heating to keep the indoor humidity.
