Dongguan Science and Technology Museum (hereinafter referred to as "Dongguan Science and Technology Museum") is located in the southwest of Dongguan administrative center square, covering an area of 40000 square meters, a construction area of 40000 square meters, a display area of 12000 square meters, with a total investment of 300 million yuan. It is the first special science and technology museum with Dongguan characteristics and modern significance in China, which mainly displays the two themes of manufacturing science and technology, information and high-tech, and takes into account the three auxiliary topics of enlightenment science and technology, online science and Technology Museum and film and television world.

Development history

Since its opening on December 28, 2005, Dongguan Science and Technology Museum has received more than 800000 tourists in two years. It has become an important activity place in Dongguan, which integrates science exhibition and education, science and technology exchange and cooperation, leisure and entertainment, tourism and sightseeing.

architectural composition

The first floor of Dongguan Science and Technology Museum is the exhibition hall of manufacturing science and technology, with an exhibition area of 4700 square meters. It mainly displays: overview of manufacturing science and technology, advanced manufacturing technology, robot, manufacturing industry and human and Society (i.e. industrial chain, including seven pillar industries and fist product industrial chain, including computer, telephone and mobile phone, TV, camera, clothing, shoes, intelligent toys, etc.).

The second floor is the exhibition hall of information and high technology, with an exhibition area of 3000 square meters. It mainly displays information technology overview, information technology foundation, network era, virtual world, comprehensive application, life and environment, materials and energy, aerospace and navigation.

On the ground floor is the exhibition hall of enlightenment science and technology, with an exhibition area of 600 square meters. It mainly displays mechanics, electromagnetism, optics, acoustics, mathematics and other basic sciences.

Dongguan Science and technology museum also has the first IMAX ball screen cinema, 4D dynamic cinema, ordinary cinema and multi-function lecture hall in South China, which can simultaneously show science and technology blockbusters and story blockbusters with Europe and America, and can hold academic exchanges, science conferences, education and training activities.

Collection

There are more than 300 exhibits in the museum, 90% of which are interactive exhibits and 80% innovative exhibits.

Honors

In 2006, it was awarded as "Guangdong science popularization education base" and "Guangdong Youth Science and technology education base". In 2007, it won the honorary titles of "Dongguan women civilization post", "Dongguan advanced collective" and "Municipal Youth Civilization number".

Theme function

It mainly shows the technological level and development direction of modern manufacturing industry, publicizes and promotes the development concept and scientific and technological thought of modern manufacturing industry, and makes it become the manufacturing science and Technology Expo Center, the carrier of modern manufacturing culture introduction and cultivation, the position of Industrial Science and technology education and the base of public scientific enlightenment.
