The park started construction in February 1999 and was completed in 2002 with an investment of more than 20 million yuan. The Chaoshan people's spirit of "unity, struggle, expansion and innovation" displayed in hongtouchuan park. The giant stone carving of "red head boat" in the garden was created by Tang Daxi, a famous sculptor from Chaozhou. The whole red head boat sculpture consists of platform and hull. The bottom of the hull is 40.8 meters long and 10 meters wide. The towering bow is 13 meters high, and the towering mast is 28 meters long. The face of the red head boat is carved with Sichuan's "China Red" stone. The bright eyes of the boat are made of black limestone. The forehead of the boat is engraved with eight gold words: "the sea does not raise waves" and "the wind benefits". Visitors can climb on the "deck" along the stone steps and have a panoramic view of the beautiful scenery of the Hanjiang Delta. Chenghai is the hometown of hongtouchuan. In the past, Chaoshan people used to travel across the ocean by hongtouchuan to make a living overseas. They lived in strange countries, worked hard and created a prosperous situation. Today, the red boat has become a symbol of economic and cultural exchanges at home and abroad.
