Pingshanyan

Pingshan rock, formerly known as binshan rock, was founded in the Qing Dynasty From the summer of 1993 to September of 1997, the temple was rebuilt and expanded by Shi Dingzhi (1921-1999, biography), the abbot. The name of the temple was inscribed by Comrade Wu Nanshan. On September 24, 1999, it was listed as the third batch of cultural relics protection units in the county. It is attractive for its unique open-air stone Avalokitesvara, golden needle pagoda, stele Gallery (gathering celebrities' poetry couplets), binshan Pavilion, and beautiful landscape.

history

In 1750, the abbot Shi Sixiang revived and reported to the government to protect the fragrant oil garden. He acted as an agent for the coastal defense military and civil government of Fujian, Guangdong, and Nan'ao. Chen Tingmei, a member of the military and civil government of Fujian, Guangdong, and Nan'ao, tried to block stones to protect the Salmonella. About 30 years later, it was rebuilt in the 45th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1780). It was rebuilt in the early years of Jiaqing (1790-1820). The "Cultural Revolution" swept through the ancient rocks and withered the shell leaves. At the end of 1975, due to the construction of a reservoir in front of Yanqian to build a hydropower station, in order to find a place to pile up sand, stones, water turbines and generators, the ancient temple with one hall and two rooms was demolished, leaving only hengcuo as the headquarters. It was completely destroyed, leaving one side of the tablet and the secret collection of Shaolin zhenzhuan.

Fortunately, the government and the people are in harmony, and the three treasures are revived. In 1991, master Ding Chi, executive director of the Chinese Buddhist Association, vice president of the provincial Buddhist Association, and President of Shantou Buddhist Association, made a vow to rebuild the ancestral court because of his innocence. He was approved by the government and won the support of the villagers. On January 8, 1992, Zunji was completed from the summer of 1993 to September 1997, with a total investment of 8 million yuan and a total construction area of more than 2000 square meters From the south to the north, there are Tianwang hall, Daxiong hall and Liangxiang, cangjing building, Guanyin Pavilion, dizang Pavilion, binshan Pavilion, shibeilang, open-air Guanyin standing statue and golden needle pagoda.

Geographical location

Pingshanyan is located in the "xitianling" behind Shenao, an ancient city in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, also known as jinzhenfeng.

Pingshan rock Buddhist temple was built during the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty by donator Huang binshan. After the completion of the temple, it is famous for its many monks. Now it has built a Buddha Hall, a great hall, a stele gallery and a 28 meter high gold needle tower. The two famous temples are majestic and have different sceneries. More than ten ancient temples with unique style and solemnity in Shenao town have formed a tourist attraction of chaofo in eastern Guangdong. "Tiannan milk" is very big and majestic. There is a spring called "wisdom spring" on it. Some people drink some wisdom spring. It is said that people who drink wisdom spring will become wise.

Introduction to scenic spots

There is a couplet in Pingshan rock: "Pingshan cliff stands in the West Tianling, and the rock temple depends on the South Island peak.". This is written by Zhang Dianguang in the late Qing Dynasty. Another couplet says: "Pingfan Yuxiu, surrounded by Qingzhang, mountains and waters Zhongling, yongbiyan.". It was written by Yuan Ying, an eminent monk in the period of the Republic of China and master of Shanghai Yuanming lecture hall. The two couplets summarize the dangerous position, majestic momentum and magnificent scenery of Pingshan rock. People who like climbing can walk along the main water pipe from Shenao hydropower station and step on the 999 level stone steps. Those who are not good at climbing don't have to worry. In recent years, two newly opened highway lines can make cars directly accessible. From Shen'ao town to the west, the car meanders along the hillside Road, turns south and goes West to xiongzhenguan, turns to the garden after guolaoshan reservoir, and reaches pingshanyan in a few minutes; another road from the county town to the northeast, along the highway wind power plant, turns to the north after dalankou, and also reaches pingshanyan.

After repair and expansion, pingshanyan has become a rather spectacular ancient jungle temple. In the middle of the tall gate tower is a plaque inscribed by Wu Nanshan, former chairman of the CPPCC Guangdong Provincial Committee. Entering the gate tower, you can see Maitreya smiling. Behind Maitreya, the standing image of Wei Tuo holding King Kong is powerful. In the East and west of Neicheng is the ancestral hall and the living room, with a high platform rising from the middle block. Stepping on the stone steps, I went to the worship Pavilion, but I saw couplets engraved on the four columns inside and outside: "green bamboo, yellow China are all real, clear pool and bright moon shine on the Zen heart", "when the state is quiet, I am worried, and I am peaceful in the world with my heart.".

The main hall behind the pavilion is dedicated to Sakyamuni Buddha, Shanxian Bodhisattva and Dashiji Bodhisattva, which looks solemn. The East and west sides are dedicated to Bodhisattva Dharma and kenglan Bodhisattva. It is said that Keng LAN, dressed as a civil servant, was once an official of the imperial court. He did his best to protect the interests of Buddhism and was worshipped as a Bodhisattva after his death. Behind the main hall, among the ancient banyan trees, is a spacious and elegant Sutra building with carved columns and jade. In addition to the collection of Buddhist classics, the Sutra house also worships eighteen Arhats. There are two rooms in front of the Sutra building, namely, the dizang Pavilion and the Guanyin Pavilion. On the high hill behind the Sutra building, there is a seven level pagoda named "golden needle pagoda", which is exquisitely shaped and straight to Xiaohan. TA Lian said: "climb out of the world, climb the void, climb the tower, you can experience the poetry of the ancients. On the top floor, you can see from afar, and the layout is also in front of you. On the right side of the high slope of Pingshan rock, there is a magnificent pavilion with cornices and angles, which is called "binshan Pavilion". The pavilion forehead is the title of the monk who built the pavilion. It is said that the pavilion was built to commemorate an ancestor who had made great contributions to the temple: it is said that in the early years of the Qing Dynasty, the couple of Huang binshan and Lin ciheng from Fujian came to Nan'ao and lived in Tianling, Shanxi Province, Shuangyan, Shen'ao. They made a living by planting "golden needle vegetables". One day, I suddenly dreamt of the old man's advice, saying that I had donated my homestead to Buddhism, and that I had been blessed. The two elders built the temple according to their words, and those who continued to build it later were also named "binshan". Many couplets are engraved on the stone pillars of binshan Pavilion: "binshan mountain is high in the morning, and the pavilion is full of mist and mist", "bingong is amiable and kind, and shantun hunts Tigers with perseverance", "binshan mountain is full of wisdom and Zen, and ciheng is the heart of Buddha". The couplets are embedded with the names of binshan, ciheng and Dingzhi. On the side of the pavilion is the Qing Dynasty's tablet of binshan rock field, which records the protection of binshan rock.

In the center of the small pool in front of binshan temple, there is a stone statue of Guanyin, which is more than 10 meters high. The 2-meter-high statue is surrounded by a lotus petal made of metal sheet. The lotus petal is rotated close to the water surface by electricity, forming a unique landscape.

Zhong lingyuxiu of Pingshan rock has attracted many scholars of ancient and modern times. On one side of the pool in front of the temple, there is a simple and elegant corridor of poems on steles. The poems and ink inscriptions of Chaoshan contemporary celebrities and poets are engraved on one side of the steles. Visitors can enjoy the scenery and enjoy the excellent works of the poet at the same time.
