Sanming Museum

Sanming City Museum was established in autumn 1986 and expanded in summer 2004. It is located on the West Bank of Shaxi River, north of Liedong bridge and No.1 liexi street. At present, there are 9 staff, including 2 Party members, 3 associate research librarians, 3 librarians and 1 intermediate technician. It is composed of historical relics exhibition hall, Hakka folk customs exhibition hall, Sanming revolutionary struggle history exhibition hall and comprehensive exhibition hall. It covers an area of 17300 square meters, with a building area of nearly 5000 square meters and an exhibition hall area of 4500 square meters.

In September 2018, Sanming museum was approved as a national second-class Museum by China Museum Association.

Development history

Since its establishment, Sanming Museum has actively organized or introduced a series of exhibitions, such as Sanming historical relics exhibition, Western Han Dynasty jade clothing exhibition, Sanming 10th anniversary of reform and opening up achievement exhibition, Nanjing Yuhuashi exhibition and commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Mao Zedong's birth 》Especially since it was awarded the municipal patriotism education base by the municipal Party committee and the municipal government in August 1995, it has successively held the exhibition of cultural relics achievements (pictures) of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the people's Republic of China in Fujian Province, the large-scale miniature landscape exhibition of scenic spots in China, world famous spots and great man's footprints, the soul of red rock, the tulip flower exhibition, and the exhibition of cultural relics unearthed from the Paleolithic age in Wanshouyan, etc Since its official opening in 1987, the museum has received more than 100000 tourists from home and abroad, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, sightseeing groups, and more than 30000 students from primary and secondary schools in the urban area, making the museum truly a second classroom for urban teenagers and playing a role as a patriotic education base. In 1991, he was awarded the title of "advanced unit of cultural work in Fujian Province" by the Provincial Department of culture and the Provincial Bureau of personnel. He was successively awarded the titles of "civilized unit", "garden unit", "health unit" and "greening unit" by the CPC Meilie District Committee, the people's Government of Meilie District, the Patriotic Health Committee of Meilie district and the Greening Committee of Meilie district.
